How can I ever say THANK YOU to Joyce Swearingen and Sarah for keeping the office going while I was in the hospital (and still recovering) as well as to all of you who have been so supportive during this VERY DIFFICULT time in my life. Thank you also to Scott Baldwin and the fantastic Cedarville Emergency personnel (did you know Scott was my son? well sort of) as well as Greene Memorial Hospital for the fine care I received while recovering there. 

Our fair book is out on the website now and a paper copy will be in the office very soon.  We encourage you to look over a copy and decide to be an exhibitor this year. 

We have something new happening on Monday July 29th from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and again on Thursday August 1st from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  If you bring a non perishable (or two) food item on each of these 2 days the entrance to the fair will be only $2.00 per person.  We are going to have a "No re-entry" to the fair.  This means that when you purchase a ticket at the gate to enter the fair, and then leave the fair for some reason but wish to return later, you must purchase another gate ticket.  We will not stamp hands coming into or leaving the fair.

I was just informed last night we are having the pig races again as well as Triple Treat is bringing in a "side show"...which promises to be lots of fun! 

I spoke to Duke of the VanDells and they are THRILLED to be coming back to the Greene County Fairgrounds on Sunday, July 28th at 8:00 p.m.  McGuffy Lane will head up the entertainment at the grandstand on Saturday, Aug. 3rd with the New Old Fashioned Band opening for them.  I have heard this Old Fashioned Band is something else!  There is no charge for either of these entertainments-just the gate admission price.

Gold Wing Road Riders will be having their light parade through Xenia on June 15th-this is an awesome event!  They will line up at the fairgrounds and travel through Xenia with their bikes all decked out in lights-it is beautiful.  I have been honored to be asked to ride on the lead bike and hold the American Flag (hopefully I am able) and so be there to cheer on this parade of some of the finest people you would ever want to meet.  They have an open house at the fairgrounds on Saturday, June 15th from 2:30-4:30 p.m.  The public is invited to come see these beautiful bikes as they get decorated for the evening ride

Won't be long now...I can almost smell the fair food!  Hear the merry-go-round and most of all, see some of the people I haven't seen for a year.  Hope to see you soon. Until then, look for the flowers in your garden, not the weeds!
